Tunisian chocolate zouza

Ingredients:

  • 500 g flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 200 g butter, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder (7 g)
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar (8 g)
  • A pinch of salt
  • Bonna Spread

Preparation:

1- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, vanilla, sugar, and a pinch of salt until well combined, then add the butter and mix until creamy.

2- Add the flour and baking powder, then mix by hand until you have a moist, smooth dough (don’t knead it; just bring the dough together with your fingers).

3- Shape the dough into small balls (6 g each) and place them in the cake pan after preheating it and coating it with a little vegetable oil.

4. Let them cool, then flatten them with a knife or pass them through a sieve.

5- Fill the cupcakes with Bonna spread and a spoonful of Boufrie, to taste.
